People on social media have been left "horrified" after a social media user shared "proof" that Scar ate his brother Mufasa in Disney's 1994 animated classic, The Lion King.

Cast your mind back to your childhood. Can you remember watching The Lion King for the very first time? The incredible soundtrack? The gripping Shakespearean storyline? The hilarious duo of Timon and Pumbaa?

Well, there's no doubt that all of those things can be forgotten due to the unbearable grief we all felt when we saw the evil Scar betray his brother, King Mufasa, and throw him into a valley of stampeding wildebeest.

If you fancy a cry, you can relive that scene below:

But if you thought watching Simba plead with his fallen father to wake up was the most emotionally tumultuous part of the movie, well... prepare to have your childhood destroyed.

TikTok user Christian (username @classyking0), has gone viral on the social media platform this week after sharing "proof" to his theory that Scar actually ate his brother's body.

Watch Christian's hard-hitting evidence unfold in the video below:

Taking to Google, Christian reveals that hyenas don’t usually eat lions - in fact, they don't have any predators at all.

The Tiktoker then points out that lions do, in fact, eat other lions, citing Google as he reveals: "Carnivores do kill and eat other carnivores. A lot of the time the consumption of a rival is an act of dominance, particularly among lions."

After googling an image of a lion skull, Christian then places it side-by-side with a scene from the movie in which Scar is playing with an unknown creature's skull - and they look terrifyingly similar.

So, if we are to believe Christian - Scar didn't just eat Mufasa, he also kept his brother's skull as a reminder of his victory.

For many social media users, the evidence was all there, and they quickly had their childhoods ruined all over again, with one writing: "I was today years old when I found out that Scar ATE Mufasa!!"

And after the original video amassed over 8.5 million views, people were also quick to take to the comments section to share their disbelief:

I guess that's one way to look at the "circle of life"...
