The latest trailer for the new Barbie movie dropped earlier this week - and one thing above everything else has sent social media into a frenzy: Margot Robbie's feet.

Yes, everybody's favorite dolls are coming to the big screen, in a live-action adventure that's guaranteed to be 'plastic fantastic'.

The movie sees Margot Robbie playing the titular blond Barbie, with Ryan Gosling playing her naively lovable playmate, Ken. Other big-name cast members include Michael Cera, Will Ferrell, Dua Lipa, and Simu Liu.

Hitting social media on Tuesday, the new teaser trailer has given fans the most in-depth look at Robbie and Gosling's hilarious portrayal of the hit children's toys - as we're given a glimpse into Barbie's life in Barbie Land.

But it is one particular scene from the trailer already that has had fans gagging and desperate to see the new flick - and it involved the 32-year-old actress' feet.

Now, anybody who has ever owned a Barbie doll remembers that they often come with a fun pair of interchangeable high heels. And in order to have Barbie's feet fit perfectly into the tiny heels, the doll would often be cast as if she were on her tip-toes.

And this detail was perfectly replicated in the live-action trailer, with a shot that would make Tarantino smile from ear-to-ear. Check it out below:

Not only does the quick shot perfectly establish the movie as a fun re-telling of the Barbie dolls we've all come to love, but it has also caused a buzz among social media users.

One seriously impressed Twitter user wrote: "I need to know everything about this shot. How many takes, if she held onto something, was she harnessed, is the landing mark sticky, are they her feet, who did the pedicure, really just a documentary on this shot?"

Another added: "BARBIE’S FEET STAYING IN THE SAME SHAPE WHEN SHE STEPS OUT OF HER HEELS BC THAT’S HOW THE DOLLS ARE".

"I finally watched the #Barbie trailer today and the audible gasp and double gasp when she stepped out the shoe and her feet stayed in the shape like the dolls. I wanted to cry I think," a third tweeted.

A fourth gushed: "My fav part of the #Barbie trailer. Oh thats how the dolls feet are I love this so much already."

There have also been plenty of jokes about Quentin Tarantino - here are some of the safest ones I could find:

Robbie has ensured fans that the upcoming movie will be "everything you ever dreamed of" when it comes to Barbie fanatics - telling Carey Mulligan for Variety's Actors on Actors series: "The dream houses? You'll see some dream houses. And it will be everything you ever dreamed of."

She also spoke about the delight of working with director Greta Gerwig, adding: "We went after Greta. There were maybe three people that we would want to make a Barbie movie with, and I was like, if she says no [...] So thank God she said yes. She's just brilliant."

The Barbie movie hits theaters on July 21.
