'Power Rangers' star Pua Magasiva found dead aged 38

Former Power Rangers: Ninja Storm actor Pua Magasiva has been found dead in his home in Wellington.

Magasiva was found dead in the early hours of May 11, and a police spokesperson stating there are no suspicious circumstances. Meanwhile, a South Pacific Pictures spokesperson has since confirmed his death in an official statement made to the New Zealand Herald.
Magasiva was best known for portraying the character of Shane Clarke in Power Rangers Ninja Storm; as well as his appearances in the New Zealand soap opera Shortland Street, and role as breakfast show co-host on the New Zealand radio station Flava.

Michael Boggs, Chief executive of the radio station, commented on the news by writing: "It is with deep sadness that the NZME family has today been told of the sudden death of Pua Magasiva. At this incredibly difficult time our thoughts, prayers and condolences go to Pua’s family, friends and his many colleagues. For us at NZME, Pua was a loved member of our radio team at Flava. We’ve been in touch with Pua’s former work mates and are offering them support."

Power Morphicon, a convention for Power Rangers fans, informed the public of the unfortunate news on social media, by tweeting: "We are devastated by the news that one of the lights in the Power Rangers family has gone dark. Pua Magasiva, known to so many as Shane, the red Ninja Storm ranger, passed away this morning. Power Morphicon is so sorry to hear of this significant loss."
