Rihanna responds to rumours she'll play Poison Ivy in the new 'Batman' movie

Everybody is pretty excited about the upcoming Joker movie, starring Joaquin Phoenix as the clown prince of crime himself. But what you might have also forgotten about is that there's a new Batman movie on the horizon, starring Robert Pattison, which allegedly will not be connected to the Joker origin story.

The question remains then: who is the Dark Knight going to face off against? Batman has one of the best rogue's galleries in all of comics, but most of his foes have already been portrayed on the big screen already. Could we see him fight The Riddler? Maybe Hugo Strange? But what about Killer Croc or Hush?

Check out Rihanna's explanation of how to pronounce her name:

Well, if conspiracy theorists are right, and pop-star Rihanna's teasing on Instagram is genuine, then the next Batman villain is going to be Poison Ivy: the seductive plant-based supervillainess, who some people believe will be played by none other than the singer herself.

The speculation surrounding Rihanna's possible involvement in a new Batman movie first began when the Barbadian musician shared an Instagram video of herself wearing a black leather boot from her Fenty clothing line. She captioned the pic: "Batmobile, but make it fashion!" - which led some people to think that she was teasing some involvement in the franchise.

Now the singer has actually responded to the rumours in person. In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, she stated: "You know what, [Warner Bros] didn’t call me yet."

She added: "But if they did, I would love to go in and try out because Poison Ivy is one of my obsessions in life. I did it for Halloween one year, I mean come on!"

So it seems as though Rihanna is down for it, but it isn't set in stone. Shame. I think she'd be fantastic as the Caped Crusader's femme fatale.
