Russo brothers reveal there are still 'Endgame' easter eggs fans haven't found yet

There's no doubt that Avengers: Endgame really was the finale that Marvel fans deserved, neatly tying up more than a decade of continuity as Earth's mightiest heroes assembled to defeat the mad titan Thanos and reverse the devastating snap.

Not only that, but it was also jam-packed full of references to all the preceding movies, as well as the mainstream Marvel comics continuity. Fans loved the movie's many easter eggs, and it would take a seriously dedicated viewer to spot them all. In fact, it seems as though there's still some out there that haven't yet been found.

Check out this behind-the-scenes clip from Avengers: Endgame

According to Anthony and Joseph Russo, the directors of Infinity War and Endgame, there are still some easter eggs hidden in Endgame that fans haven't found yet.

During an AMA session held on Reddit last week, one fan asked the Russos: "Are there any Important Easter eggs in Endgame that haven’t been found yet?" - to which the Russos merely enigmatically replied: "Yes."

So there you are: it seems as though there are still some little tidbits hidden in plain sight during the course of the movie. However, there are plenty of easter eggs that have already been catalogued, and so we've detailed a list of easter eggs that have already been found for you. No need to thank us; just scroll down to take a look.

1. Tony's last words

Tony's Stark's last words to Thanos just before using the Infinity Stones to destroy him once and for all is "I am Iron Man," the last line of the original Iron Man movie.

2.Tony's daughter's favourite food

Tony's daughter Morgan shows a love of cheeseburgers, just like her dad - who ate one upon returning to the states after being held captive in Afghanistan.

3. The tribute to Iron Man

At Tony Stark's funeral, Pepper sends off Tony's ashes on a wreath that also holds the original arc reactor from the first Iron Man, along with the words "Proof that Tony Stark has a heart" - which is what Pepper wrote in reference to the invention in the first film too.

4. New Asgard

The town in Norway where the Asgardians settle in is Tønsberg - the same village where (according to legend) the god Odin led a battle against the Frost Giants. It's also where Odin kept the Tesseract hidden in Captain America: The First Avenger, which was later found by the Red Skull.

5.  Bucky and Cap's exchange

Just before Steve travels back in time to return the Infinity Stones, Cap tells Bucky not to do anything stupid, and Bucky replies: "How can I? You're taking all the stupid with you" - a role reversal of the dialogue they exchanged back in First Remember.

Take a look at this other behind-the-scenes clip shared by Chris Pratt:

6. The last thing Stark sees

Tony's log to Pepper mentions his final dying thoughts will be of her, which is what he hoped when defeating the alien invaders in the first Avengers. As Tony lies dying in Endgame, Pepper is the last person he sees before he dies.

7. The Hungarian anecdote

En route to Vormir, Clint comments that he and Natasha are a long way from Budapest, recalling an unseen adventure first mentioned in back The Avengers.

8. The lightning

In Avengers, Thor accidentally charged the Iron Man suit when he struck it with lightning. When fighting Thanos, Thor uses this technique again, as we see that Tony's latest suit now a built-in lightning absorption feature.

9. The second snap

The music that plays when Tony uses the Infinity Gauntlet is the same music that plays when Tony attempts to fly the nuke into the Chitauri portal.

10. Funeral guest

That little boy who appears at Tony Stark's funeral? That's a teenage Harley Keener, who first appeared back in Iron Man 3.

Check out the trailer for Endgame below:

11. War wound

When Thor's mother asked him about the loss of his eye, Thor references the time he was hit in the face with a broadsword during the Battle of Harokin - previously referenced by Thor and Sif in Thor: The Dark World.

12. Old clothes

When the Avengers suit up to confront Thanos at the first act of the movie, Cap dons his stealth armour in a darker colour scheme from Captain America: Winter Soldier.

13. Hail Hydra

Steve runs into the undercover Hydra agents carrying the tesseract in an elevator, just like he did in Winter Soldier. Instead of fighting his way out, however, he tricks them by whispering: "hail Hydra" - which is also a reference to a controversial line from the comics, in which Captain America appeared to have defected.

14. The Falcon appears

When Cap is about to face down Thanos's army, the first voice we hear from any of the un-snapped heroes is Sam Wilson stating: "Cap, it's Sam. On your left" - a line from Winter Soldier.

15. An avian cameo

When the many heroes are emerging from the portal to fight Thanos, Howard the Duck is seen for a split second, referencing his appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy.

Check out this awesome scene from the movie below:

16. Rocket's cheer

When Rocket Raccoon Rocket sees Captain Marvel destroy the Sanctuary II, he cries "Oh yeah!" - same thing he says after getting a gun from Drax back in Guardians.

17.  Tony's despair

When Tony reunites with the Avengers after his sojourn in space, he recalls his concept from Age of Ultron of shielding Earth against alien attacks, and recalls Steve's words that if they would lose, they would do so together.

18. Mjolnir moment

Just as Thanos is about to kill Thor, Captain America manages to summon and lift Mjolnir. This pays off a joke from Age of Ultron, where the Avengers attempt to lift the hammer for a bet, and Steve managed to make it budge, with Thor notices Thor even cries: "I knew it!" in joy.

19. Retirement home

At the end of Age of Ultron Tony states: "Maybe I should take a page out of Barton's book. Build Pepper a farm, hope nobody blows it up" - which is exactly what happens after the time skip in Endgame.

20. Prophecy

During the fight against Thanos, Captain America's vibranium shield is broken in half by Thanos: which is what happened in Tony's vision in Age of Ultron.

21. Assemble!

Cap finally gets to shout: "Avengers Assemble!" before the final battle, which he was cut off from stating at the end of Age of Ultron.

22. The van

Scott uses his blinker to find his old van that he's driven since this film, which sounds the 'Cucaracha'  horn first heard in Ant-Man.

23. Ant-Man's stealth

Ant-Man breaks into Tony Stark's machinery to disable again, just like he did when fighting Iron Man in Civil War.

24. Black Panther's apology

In Endgame, Black Panther makes it a point to call Clint by name, as a way for apologising to him after remarking "I don't care" when Hawkeye introduced himself in Civil War.

25. Cap and Spidey

When Captain America see Spider-Man again, he calls him 'Queens', referencing a conversation they had in Civil War.

Watch this scene from Endgame:

26. Dr Strange's old life

When Hulk goes to the New York Sanctum to get the Time Stone the Ancient One tells him that Strange is busy performing surgery at a hospital; referencing a line from Doctor Strange when she had peered through time to learn about him.

27. Drax's makes a wardrobe change

During Tony's funeral, we see Drax wearing a shirt for the first time out of respect, referencing his habitual toplessness.

28. Kill mode

In Spider-Man Homecoming, Peter's suit A.I. teases an 'Instant Kill' mode - which he finally gets to activate against the invaders in the final battle.

29. A heartwarming moment

When Tony sees that Peter is alive, he gives him a relieved hug - something he refused to do in Homecoming.

30. Valkyrie's nickname

Just like in Ragnarok, Hulk calls Valkyrie 'Angry Girl' since he still hasn't learned her name.

However, as amazing as Endgame is, there are still more movies to come, and Marvel has already confirmed that the Avengers will return.
