The standalone Joker movie, starring Joaquin Phoenix as Batman's arch-nemesis, has been a smashing success.

It has drawn inspiration from such classic Batman graphic novels like Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns, Alan Moore's The Killing Joke, and Grant Morrison's Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on a Serious Earth, as well as Martin Scorcese movies Taxi Drivers' and The King of Comedy.

Not only that, but the movie's box office takings speak for themselves. According to Forbes, as of October 24, the movie has made a worldwide total profit of $771.3 million, and $258.675 million in the U.S. - making it the seventh highest-grossing film of 2019 and the highest grossing R-rated film of all time in the United States.

This means that the movie has managed to usurp the earnings made by other R-rated comic book movies, such as Deadpool and Venom. However, in honor of the record-breaking performance, Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds has shared a sarcastic 'congratulatory' poster in order to troll Joaquin Phoenix.

Reynolds uploaded a photoshopped image of the now-iconic Joker poster, featuring the character of Arthur Fleck dancing for joy at the top of a long flight of stairs.

He replaced the title with the words 'You Motherf*cker', and changed the cast list to instead list the main characters in the other R-rated movies which Joker had managed to beat.

These movies included: 50 Shades of Grey, It, The Hangover Movies, Ted, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Ted, and The Matrix. Reynolds captioned the post: "R-Rated box office congratulatory posts aren’t like the ones you’re used to ... [sic]"

However, I'm sure that Deadpool will be returning to our cinema screens sometime very soon in the near future. After all, we can now confirm that a third Deadpool movie is in the works and that Ryan Reynolds is definitely attached to the upcoming project.
