Over the past eight years or so with the fantasy epic making its way to our screens, perhaps no character on Game of Thrones has gone through a bigger change in perception than Sophie Turner's Sansa Stark.

The redheaded middle child of the Stark household, Sansa was savaged by fans in the beginning for her infatuation with the objectively awful Joffrey Baratheon, and her passiveness in the violent upheaval that followed.

But somewhere around the fifth season, the character went through a very big (and very welcome) change.

After being held captive by the villainous Ramsay Bolton, Sansa eventually finds it in herself to escape, and her eventual revenge on Bolton at the end of season six confirmed what we'd been getting hints of for quite a while: Sansa Stark is now a stone cold badass.

From the wide-eyed innocence of season one to the world-weary shark eyes you see above, Sansa Stark has really risen to the occasion in recent times, and ahead of the eighth and final season, Game of Thrones fans can't wait to see the end of Sansa's story arc, nor can they wait to see what epic feats she'll accomplish next.

Ahead of what promises to be an unforgettable season of television, spoilers are never too far around the corner, and internet forums around the world are poring through every tiny detail in order to predict something - anything - about the next season.

DB Weiss and David Benioff, the Game of Thrones showrunners, have made spoiler prevention an art, but have they slipped up with Sansa Stark? If you're to believe Sophie Turner's latest comments on her character, then maybe they have.

Sophie Turner, of course, is getting married to Joe Jonas fairly soon, but it'll have to wait until after Game of Thrones has wrapped filming: Turner revealed that in preparation for the show's highly-anticipated swansong, she's gone to the point of not washing her hair. Not at all.

But what will greasy-haired Sansa be getting up to? Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Turner revealed that we're probably going to see a bit more of Sansa in a combative sense; Sansa might be gearing up for battle, as the looming threat of the White Walkers finally becomes manifest.

"This is the first time I’ve had armor," she explained, and added that while it's not going to be the metal armour that Brienne of Tarth or Jaime Lannister suit up in, the black leather ensemble will enable her to kick plenty of butt in the six episodes yet to come.

"We [like] the idea of it being very protective and she buttons herself up. I wanted her to have a bit of armor and be a bit more warrior like. She's like the warrior of Winterfell."

Well, what can we take from that? Will Sansa be embroiled in battles to the death, much like her sister Arya and her brother Jon? Or, will the final season see her take up the silent tactician that we've seen so far in season seven? I've got no idea, folks, but I can't wait to find out.
