Filming has started on the second season of Sex Education, Netflix has confirmed.
The streaming giant made the announcement via their official Twitter page, writing, "Ok it's official, Sex Education s2 filming has started. here's to more wanking and more heartwarming moments in equal measure."
Season one of the British series, which openly tackles various x-rated subject matters, was a huge hit among viewers.
The show also received a very impressive 90 percent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. So if you're looking for another show to add to your list of binge-worthy Netflix originals, this might just be the one.
Here's the official trailer to Sex Education:Following the success of the first season, a second season was pretty much inevitable. And so we will return once more to the lives, loves, and (most importantly) sexcapades of Otis (Asa Butterfield), his sex therapist mother (Gillian Anderson), Eric (Ncuti Gatwa) and Maeve (Emma Mackey).
The show's creator Laurie Nunn had this to say about Sex Education being renewed for a second season:
"The reception to series one has been so exciting. Seeing how people across the world have connected to characters that began as ideas in my head is incredible. I'm hugely grateful to every person that has taken the time to watch the series, and I can't wait to continue this amazing journey."
"Laurie Nunn has captured the awkward teenage experience with a lot of heart and humour in Sex Education," Netflix's Vice President of Original Content, Cindy Holland, added.
"Along with the Eleven team and executive producer and director Ben Taylor, she's created a universally relatable series that has resonated with our members around the world."
Now, it's just a matter of waiting for the release date for season two - here's hoping we won't be in for a two-year-long Game of Thronesesque hiatus.
