Video game developers Square Enix have announced that a new Marvel game called Marvel's Avengers will be shown at the upcoming E3 presentation next month.

The news came from Twitter account @PlayAvengers, which confirmed the title of the game fans knew to be in the works, but had been previously known as Project Avengers.

"Tune into Square Enix Live E3 2019 for the worldwide reveal of Marvel’s Avengers," the tweet said, offering a live stream link for the games expo.

Of course, the world is still recovering from the emotional impact of the last Avengers project:

The only other information is an updated and simplified version of the Avengers logo made familiar by films such as Avengers: Endgame, which appears alongside logos for games companies Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal, as well as the Marvel logo.

Soon after this, video game journalist Geoff Keighly followed up with a tweet saying the game would have its own showcase on his E3 Coliseum show, which is set to air on Tuesday June 11, the day after the game's unveiling at E3.

Beyond this, there's little known at this moment in time, with Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix staying silent on the project since announcing it to little fanfare a couple of years ago. It remains to be seen what is unveiled at E3, but there could be a fascinating game in the works.
