Earlier this week the news broke that one of the upcoming live-action Disney remakes had cast its lead, with actress and singer Halle Bailey being named as the new Ariel. The movie is set to be helmed by Mary Poppins Returns and Into The Woods director Rob Marshall, who named the star as his lead after an extensive search.

"After an extensive search, it was abundantly clear that Halle possesses that rare combination of spirit, heart, youth, innocence, and substance — plus a glorious singing voice," the director said in a statement, "all intrinsic qualities necessary to play this iconic role."

Now that news has gone down - with a lot of serious feelings about the choice for the character. But that doesn't mean the casting news is going to end there. There's been rumours that arch-villain Ursula will be played by Melissa McCarthy - who is reportedly in talks to take on the dastardly role.

After this, fans started sharing their own choices for who should join the cast, with a lot of thought going into who should play Prince Eric. And, as happens with every casting, people were certain that Harry Styles should take on the role.

On top of that, some were deadset on the idea that Idris Elba joins the cast - as King Triton.

It's one thing for people to suggest their favourite actors take on the role of King Triton - it's another when the actor themselves puts the idea forward, as Terry Crews just did.

Taking to Twitter to join in with all the hubub about the upcoming underwater movie, the muscle-bound actor posted a hilarious photoshop of him as Triton, along with the message: "Ariel’s Dad!!!!  #ArielsGotTerry #AmericasGotTerry"

There were plenty of supporters standing behind the Brooklyn 99 actor when he made his pitch.

So, do you think Crews is good for the role, or would Idris Elba be your pick for the ruler of Atlantica?
