The Boys are back in town.

If you're familiar with the Amazon Prime series, you'll know that The Boys aren't afraid to show you some pretty messed up stuff.

My mind instantly goes back to Herogasm in the third series which was arguably the most alarming thing I've ever seen.

If you're unfamiliar with the show, don't let this put you off because it's a lot of fun that also takes on some real-world issues.

Check out the trailer for season four below:

Also, it shows superheroes who are just awful people which is probably what would happen if they did exist.

Anyway...

Season four of The Boys has arrived on Prime with the first three episodes, and it picked up right where the third left off.

I'm not going to spoil anything but if you wanted the same amount of gore and weird scenes as the previous seasons, then you're in luck!

As The Boys, consisting of Butcher, Hughie, Starlight, Mother's Milk, Frenchie, and Kimiko, attempt to take down Homelander, they encounter some pretty strange scenes... like one on the second episode of the new season.

In episode two, titled 'Life Among the Septics,' viewers are confronted with a particularly disturbing X-rated scene.

Staying true to its satirical roots, The Boys parodies one of the most shockingly grotesque films ever made: the Human Centipede franchise.

For those unfamiliar, the Human Centipede films involve humans being surgically connected mouth-to-anus to form a continuous chain, a concept that is as horrifying as it sounds.

Enter Splinter, a new character this season, whose power allows him to create near-instant clones of himself.

Instead of using his powers to do something cool, he instead uses it to... pleasure himself.

When characters Frenchie and Kimiko walk in, they find Splinter using his cloning ability to create a grotesque train of himself, connected butt-to-face, for his own perverse pleasure.

Unsurprisingly, fans reacted strongly to the scene. One Reddit user on r/TheBoys remarked: “BRO WHAT IN THE HOLY F*** DID I SEE,” while another added: “he doing that human centipede type s*** what the f*** was that.”

Adding to the absurdity, a trivia pop-up from Prime Video during the scene read: “Actor Rob Benedict wants us to remind everyone that he studied Shakespeare at Northwestern University. There is no contractual obligation for us to carry out this request. This is merely a kind gesture.”

It's doubtful that anybody watching the scene will be thinking about his prowess with classical theatre.

The first three episodes of The Boys season four are available to watch on Amazon Prime right now.

It was recently confirmed that season five will be the conclusion of the show, so enjoy the unhinged series while you still can!
