Since its Netflix debut last October, The Haunting of Hill House has been one of the most talked-about shows on the streaming platform. And so it was pretty much inevitable that the supernatural horror series would be getting a second season.
The announcement that the anthology series would be returning - made back in February - also revealed that its upcoming second chapter, The Haunting of Bly Manor, would be based on Henry James' 1898 horror novella The Turn of the Screw.
And now, ahead of the second season's 2020 release, it has been announced that Victoria Pedretti who impressed audiences with her portrayal of Nell in the first season will be returning as lead of the new season.
Take a look at the exciting video announcement, courtesy of Victoria Pedretti herself:The new story in the anthology will centre around a governess called Dani (Pedretti) who has been tasked with taking care of a pair of siblings.
"Hey everyone. I'm very excited to announce that I will be returning to the Haunting universe, in season 2: The Haunting of Bly Manor. I play Dani, a governess who takes care of two very unusual children," Pedretti explains in the (above) video. "Our incredible writing team is writing the new season right now and I'm so excited to get going. It will hit Netflix in 2020 and I think you're gonna love it".
And if you're interested in keeping up with the up-and-coming star's career overall, well, she will also be starring in season two of Netflix's hugely popular series You, opposite Penn Badgley.
If you watched the show's very gripping first season, you'll be aware that it's quite likely things won't end too well for her character - possibly meaning she'll have plenty of time to return once more as lead of the third season of The Haunting of Hill House.
