Tim Burton reportedly wants Johnny Depp to play Gomez Addams in his new Addams Family TV series.
The director has collaborated with Depp numerous times in the past, in projects such as Edward Scissorhands, Alice in Wonderland, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Ed Wood, and Dark Shadows.
Take a look at this interview with Depp in the video below:According to a report by Small Screen, two unnamed sources allegedly told the outlet that Burton wanted Depp to play the Addams family patriarch in his upcoming television reboot of the original 1964 TV series - itself an adaptation of Charles Samuel Addams newspaper cartoon strips for The New Yorker.
One source apparently stated:

Meanwhile, another allegedly claimed:
"Depp is in talks to star as Gomez Addams in The Addams Family. It was Tim Burton’s idea. It seems as though Netflix are the ones who have to be convinced."
However, it should be noted that there has been no official confirmation on the casting from either Burton, Netflix, or from Depp himself.
Depp was recently replaced by Mads Mikkelsen in the role of the dark wizard Grindelwald in the upcoming third Fantastic Beasts movie.

Per CNN, Depp sued the tabloid and its executive editor Dan Wootton, over an article published bearing the headline: "GONE POTTY: How can JK Rowling be 'genuinely happy' casting wife-beater Johnny Depp in the new Fantastic Beasts film? [sic]"
And BBC News reports that Judge Andrew Nicol determined that The Sun had proven that the content of the article to be "substantially true", and ruled in the newspaper's favor.
Take a look at Depp's performance in The Crimes of Grindelwald:Depp broke the news in a post made on his official Instagram account on November 7, and emphatically denied the allegations of spousal abuse. In a statement made to his 8 million followers, the 57-year-old actor wrote:
"I have been humbled and moved by your many messages of love and concern, particularly over the last few days.
"Secondly, I wish to let you know that I have been asked to resign by Warner Bros from my role as Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts and I have respected that and agreed to that request."
The character of Gomez Addams has previously been portrayed by John Astin in the original series, by Raul Julia in the original live-action movies, by Tim Curry in a television special, Nathan Lane in the Broadway musical, and Oscar Isaac in the recent animated adaptation.
