TV channel showing 24/7 Christmas movies launches today

Let's face it, 2020 has been a pretty huge letdown for obvious reasons. And as we get closer and closer to the end of the year and face increasingly tougher COVID restrictions, it's getting more difficult to keep our spirits up.

I mean, we still have Christmas coming up in a few months, but with fewer opportunities to spend the festivities with friends and family, will it be the same?

Well, don't fret because there is something you can look forward to... a marathon of Christmas movies starting from today!

Yep, Sony Movies Christmas, a TV channel dedicated to screening festive films 24/7, launches today, September 24. It sort of takes the edge off life in lockdown, right?

So what's been included in the channel's programming? Well, to kick things off Sony Movies Christmas will be showing A Beauty and the Beast Christmas, Marrying Father Christmas, and The Christmas Cabin.

Plus the following new releases will also be screened for your viewing pleasure: A Christmas Eve Miracle, Christmas Cruise, Lucky Christmas, The Christmas Contract, and Magic Stocking.

Furthermore, the channel will also be launching themed weekends, with categories including Christmas Comedies, Naughty vs. Nice, Wicked Christmas, and Singing for Christmas.

Announcing the launch, the channel said, per the Sun: "Santa and his elves aren’t the only people working its stockings off to ensure there’s enough Christmas content to keep you in a seasonal mood right until the big day and beyond. Because really, when isn’t a good time to give yourself a little festive cheer?"

The channel will be around until January, so you'll have ample time to watch some of the best-loved Christmas classics.

Sony Movie Christmas will be available from September 24 on Freeview 50, Sky 319, Virgin 424 or Freesat 303.
