Now, it may still be September - and therefore the culmination of summer - but I'm afraid we're about to discuss Christmas.

While it's regrettable to wish the year away with such abandon, it's also true that there has been comparatively little to look forward to in this strangest of all years.

As such, perhaps it's alright to start thinking about how we're going to spend the festive period, a time of year that often involves staying indoors, gorging on comforting food and watching TV.

And if you plan on spending Christmas time this year parked firmly in front of the television, then you'll doubtless be pleased to know that a TV channel is launching this month that will show Christmas movies all day, every day.

That's right, Sony Movies Christmas will be dedicated only to festive movies and is set to air 24 hours a day, meaning you can start binge-watching movies now and feasibly still be rattling through them on Christmas morning.

Launching on September 24 in the UK, the channel will show festive classics and new premiers, as well as "indulgent treats to get you in the holiday mood from September to January".

A description of the channel reads:

"Santa and his elves aren't the only people working its stockings off to ensure there's enough Christmas content to keep you in a seasonal mood right until the big day and beyond."

"Because really, when isn't a good time to give yourself a little festive cheer?"

According to broadbandtvnews.com, the channel will air such UK premiers as: "A Beauty and the Beast Christmas, Marrying Father Christmas, and The Christmas Cabin".

Other titles on offer include, "A Christmas Eve Miracle, Christmas Cruise, Lucky Christmas, The Christmas Contract, and Magic Stocking."

Sony Christmas Movies will be available all day, every day from September 24 onwards. By the time the day itself rolls around, you'll be quoting The Christmas Contract word-for-word.
