Wendy Williams appeared to fart on her talk show and people are losing it

When it comes to filming on live TV, the one thing you want to avoid is an embarrassing blooper. Without time to edit or cut, a show has to go totally smoothly while the cameras are rolling, and mistakes and gaffes have to be papered over.

Unfortunately, the ubiquity of social media means that when a showbiz personality screws up, it's all too easy for the footage of their mistake to end up plastered all over Twitter, and this example is no exception.

This week, talk show host, Wendy Williams, has inadvertently ended up going viral, after a clip emerged on Twitter which seems to show her breaking wind on air.

The farting incident allegedly took place during the course of last Friday's episode of The Wendy Williams Show. As you can see in the video above, at one point during a segment about the week's hot topics, Wendy could clearly be seen shifting uncomfortably in her seat.

Then, a number of viewers at home heard what sounded like a mysterious tooting, which seems to suggest that Wendy herself had gas. She even looked somewhat startled at the time, but carried on without addressing the noise in any way.

This incident occurred a mere week after Williams was forced to issue an apology regarding Joaquin Phoenix's cleft lip. While Williams was talking about Beyoncé refusing to stand for the Joker star at the 2020 Golden Globes earlier this month, she addressed the scar on his upper lip, going so far as to use her finger to simulate a cleft lip.
