DC's League of Super-Pets has given us a first peek at Keanu Reeves as the Batman.

In the latest trailer for the animated flick, we hear Reeves speak as The Dark Knight to his crime-fighting canine companion, Ace.

The John Wick star tells the dog (in Batman's trademark gruff voice): "So, you are a dog. I am the Batman. I'm not really great with animals..."

Ace - who is voiced by Kevin Hart - responds, saying: "Yeah. I'm not really great with people, probably because of my traumatic puppyhood."

Check it out in the video below:

The two then bond over their tragic pasts - resulting in Ace giving Reeves' Batman a thorough face-licking.

Later in the trailer, we're introduced to Dwayne Johnson's character Krypto the Superdog - who's the loyal hound of John Krasinski's Superman. We also meet Wonder Woman's pet sidekick PB, voiced by Vanessa Bayer.

The film boasts an A-list cast, with Ben Schwartz, Marc Maron, Kate McKinnon, and Jameela Jamil also voicing characters. It follows Johnson's character Krypto as he and a motley crew of shelter animals work together to rescue the human Justice League from the clutches of the evil Lex Luthor (voiced by Maron).

Unsurprisingly, fans were very excited to see the Matrix star donning a black cape and stepping into Batman's shoes, with many taking to social media to talk about the casting.

"This is the batman news that we need to talk about," one tweeted, while another added: "Keanu Reeves voicing Batman is the best thing ever."

"2022 has given us two of the best Batmen and I am screaming about it'" wrote another fan, in reference to Robert Pattinson's turn as the caped crusader in the recently released movie The Batman.

Meanwhile, even people who weren't won over by the idea of an animated Justice League animals movie had to admit that Reeves would make a great batman.

"Not interested in this movie, but I'll say this is perfect casting," wrote one fan, while another tweeted: "You know what. I may actually go see this now. Just [because] of Keanu"

DC's League of Super-Pets is due to hit movie theaters on May 20, 2022.
