Steve Burton has been ordered to pay his ex-wife $12,500 a month in child support after the pair split.
In court documents obtained by PEOPLE Magazine, the 53-year-old actor and his wife Sheree Gustin agreed to the terms of the divorce which included the joint legal and physical custody of two of their children.
Their eldest is over the age of 18 so was not included in the paperwork.
Burton has been ordered to pay Sheree $12,500 per month in child support for their minor children, son Jack and daughter Brooklyn, until April 2024. Then, the amount will be lowered to $10,000 per month as per the documents.
The outlet also reported that both parties waived their right to spousal support "now or at any time in the future, regardless of the unforeseen circumstances that may exist in the future."
However, Sheree will receive a one-off $50,000 payment as "retroactive support."
The news comes after the pair announced their seemingly abrupt and messy split back in 2022, as confirmed by Us Weekly.
The soap star cited "irreconcilable differences" in his petition, noting they initially separated a few months prior in March.
Just a few months after the news went public, it was announced that Sheree was pregnant with a fourth child, Izabella, who she gave birth to in February 2023, but the baby was not in fact Steve's.
"I wanted to clear something up. Sheree and I are separated," he wrote via his Instagram Stories at the time. "She recently announced that she’s expecting her 4th child. The child is not mine."
"We are still co-parenting our three beautiful kids. We would appreciate privacy at this time. Much luv, Steve," he added.
The pair has been married for just over two decades after meeting on the set of General Hospital. They quickly tied the knot in 1999 and went from strength to strength over the following years.
"My career path took many turns after this first job that included riding show horses for many years and working as an intern on the set of ABC’s General Hospital," Sheree explained to Women Fitness magazine back in January 2020. "It was on the set of General Hospital where I met my now-husband, actor Steve Burton [Jason Morgan], who was also passionate about maintaining a fit [and] active lifestyle."
However, things started getting chaotic for the couple after it was announced that the 45-year-old had been fired from the soap after refusing to get a Covid-19 vaccine due to "personal freedoms."
And then shortly after that, the couple split and it was announced that the actress would be having another child with someone else.
We hope that both parties continue to live happy and fulfilling lives now that their divorce has been finalized.
