Gigi Hadid has left fans in stitches with her first post after her arrest for possession of marijuana in the Cayman Islands.
Hadid, along with her friend Leah Nicole McCarthy, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after flying from the US to the Cayman Islands, last week, according to reports from TMZ.
The supermodel landed at Owen Roberts International Airport via private plane on July 10 and went through customs as normal with her luggage. But Customs and Border Control agents discovered a small amount of weed and smoking utensils for cannabis in Hadid's bag, leading to her arrest.
It was determined that the pot was for personal use only but even so, Hadid and McCarthy were still arrested on charges of importation of marijuana and importation of utensils to smoke cannabis before later being let off with a $1,000 fine.
In a statement issued to E! News, a representative for Hadid said, "Gigi was traveling with marijuana purchased legally in NYC with a medical license. It has also been legal for medical use in Grand Cayman since 2017. Her record remains clear and she enjoyed the rest of her time on the island."
The 28-year-old was processed at the Royal Cayman Islands Detention Centre and was arraigned for bail and then later released pending prosecution of her case.
On July 12, two days after arriving in the Cayman Islands, Hadid and McCarthy both pled guilty to the formal charges during a court appearance and were fined $1,000 each, although neither received a conviction on their record.
Yet, despite all this, Hadid seems in very high spirits as she took to Instagram and shared a few vacation snaps with her 78 million followers, captioned: "All's well that ends well".
The photos show Hadid and her friends clad in bikinis, soaking up the sun and sand, while enjoying oysters, pizza, and some chips and dips, which is pretty much a perfect selection of vacation beach treats, to be honest.
The post has already amassed over 2.6 million likes in less than 24 hours at the time of writing, with almost 7,000 Instagram users commenting on it.
One joked: "She couldn't care less lmao", while another added: "me after getting arrested for possession of marijuana."
Another user defended Hadid's possession of weed, replying: "y’all she got the weed legally in nyc & with a medical prescription for it. cayman islands have allowed medical use of weed since 2017. she only got a fine because her prescription wasn’t from there."

She doesn't appear to have let the $1,000 fine hinder her enjoyment of the lavish trip in the slightest, and we love that for her.
