Last year, we received the fantastic news that the Disney Channel classic Lizzie McGuire was getting a reboot.

Disney has released tantalizing behind-the-scenes shots of the new show since then, but until now, one very important question has gone unanswered: will Gordo be returning? Well, as of today, we know that the answer is yes, yes he is!

Because let's face it, Lizzie McGuire would not have been Lizzie McGuire without Adam Lamberg's character.

As per Buzzfeed, this is what Hilary Duff had to say about Gordo's return for the Disney+ series: "Gordo was an essential piece of the puzzle to what made the original Lizzie McGuire so authentic and beloved. I couldn't imagine the series without him. I can't wait for fans to see what he's up to 15 years later and how he fits into Lizzie's adult world."

The happy news comes after Lalaine (Miranda the Great) posted a screenshot of a text message from Adam Lamberg to Instagram. This happened moments after news of the reboot was announced.

So, with today's news in mind, we may now know what this text was all about!

However, nothing is yet known about what Gordo's role in the reboot would be. So while your imagination runs riot, just content yourself that the Gordo-Lizzie onscreen reunion that many of us never thought we'd see is happening.

In the meantime, you can catch up on the original Lizzie McGuire series on Disney+ for $6.99 a month or $69.99 a year (plus you'll get to see lots of other brilliant shows and movies including The Mandalorian featuring the adorable Baby Yoda).

Oh, and if you aren't sure if Disney+ is for you, no worries. There's a seven-day free trial!
