Greta Thunberg has taken to Twitter to troll Donald Trump as he leaves the White House for the very last time.

Watch President Trump's farewell address below:

The climate activist shared the following tweet, heavy with irony, with her 4.5 million followers: "He seems like a very happy old man looking forward to a bright and wonderful future. So nice to see!"

Needless to say, plenty of her followers had something to say in response to her cheeky tweet.

One person tweeted: "It has been a long… long… very, very long four years. For someone in my age group, where the years pass by more quickly than years past… it’s been an extremely hard four years.

"To the Patriotic Americans who made it through these long four years… I raise a glass of hope!"

Another said: "Greta, that's called a clap back here in the U.S! Great job!"

A third said: "Greta, I’m sorry this angry, bitter, resentful, destructive, authoritative old man didn’t treat you with the respect you deserve.

"He doesn’t represent us. We are proud of the work you’ve done to protect the planet we all live on and with him out of the way, we’ll start again."

However, not everyone agreed with the 18-year-old's tone, with one writing: "Humbleness in every thing. He was elected to the seat. You will be old as well. Every body is entitled to a view, be it him or you [sic]."

Greta and Trump have never been each other's biggest fans.

In fact, when he learned that the teenager had been named Time magazine's Person of the Year in 2019, he responded to the decision by branding it "ridiculous" and suggested that Greta had an anger management problem.

"So ridiculous," Trump tweeted. "Greta must work on her Anger Management problem, then go to a good old fashioned movie with a friend! Chill Greta, Chill!"

In true Greta fashion, she did not take it lying down but also refrained from giving the tweet attention by directly replying to it.

Instead, the Swede changed her Twitter bio to read, "A teenager working on her anger management problem. Currently chilling and watching a good old fashioned movie with a friend."
