Harry Potter fans have been left stunned after discovering a deleted scene "reappears" in the Goblet of Fire movie.
The discovery was revealed on TikTok by user KristinaMarieClaire, and it has now gone viral having received 442.7K views and 65.2K likes at the time of writing.
In the deleted scene, showing off to their competition before the Triwizard Tournament, the Hogwarts students sing a school anthem which the TikTok user says she has no recollection of ever hearing before, despite watching the movies several times.
Watch this deleted scene below:So what is this song? I hear you ask. Well, writing as a fairly avid Potterhead myself, I must admit that I too have no recollection of ever hearing it before. It's called Hoggy Warty Hogwarts and contains some absolutely corking lines like "Whether we be old and bald or young with scabby knees," and "for now they're bare and full of hair, dead flies and bits of fluff."
In the scene, Dumbledore acts as the school's conductor, and the bizarre song receives exactly the sort of reaction you'd expect from the visiting schools, who are in the Great Hall for the welcome feast. They came for fire-breathing dragons and they got something that sounds like it belongs in a nursery rhyme.
"I… am so confused?????" wrote one TikTok user in response to the scene. "I have seen these movies front to back since I was eight so many times and I'VE NEVER SEEN THIS."
However, if you're a truly hardcore Potterhead or J.K. Rowling herself, the song won't be completely unfamiliar to you, as it's actually in the Harry Potter books, but for pretty understandable reasons, it never made the final cut of the movies themselves.
