Jamie Foxx has taken to social media to show off his newly bulked-up physique as he trains to star in a Mike Tyson biopic.

Foxx first revealed in 2014 that he would be playing the boxing champion, the Daily Mail reports, and he showed off his newly bulked-up frame on Thursday while appearing on an episode of Catching Up with Mark Birnbaum on Instagram.

He said daily workout regimen to get in shape to play Tyson consists of doing 60 pull-ups, 60 dips, and 100 push-ups.

Listen to Foxx discuss how he is preparing for the role below:

Foxx said his new fitness regime is already altering the top half of his body, but he still has a lot of work to do when it comes to bulking up his legs.

"I ain't got no legs, I ain't got no calf muscles so we're gonna have to get some prosthetics for that," Foxx said.

The actor revealed that he will weigh 216lbs when filming begins. This will enable him to play a younger version of the boxer before he will "balloon to 225, 230 which will look like 250 on-screen."

Foxx has also shared the remarkable images to Instagram, writing: "The transformation begins... 'FINDING MIKE'.

"It is no secret that I have been pursuing the @miketyson biopic for some time... people always ask me when is it going to happen?... things have finally lined up...

"A few months ago we started the journey… The first but biggest task is to transform the body... with a regiment of pull-ups dips and push-ups we are off to a pretty good start… we have a ways to go but God willing... yesterday on my good friends @markbirnbaum show.

"I shared these early pics of the process... like I said we have a ways to go… But I am prepared to get there! #swipeleft TYSON!"

Foxx has previously impersonated Tyson in the past, and he has even had help from Tyson himself.

Per the Daily Mail, Tyson said:

"Within a year to 18 months, we're going to do the Mike Tyson story and he's going to portray me, and now they have this new animation; because you know Jamie's pretty much my age so he can't portray me but they have this new system."

Speaking to the Live Show with Kelly and Michael shortly after, Foxx said: "I got a chance to hang out with Mike when Mike was at his height and I watched [him] go from his height to where he is now and talked to him about doing his story. I think that story would be fantastic."

Little is known about the new biopic, but it's a pretty safe bet that Foxx is ready to get started as soon as possible.
