Jason Momoa has revealed in a new interview that he was "completely in debt" after his role in Game of Thrones came to an end.
His character Khal Drogo was killed off back in 2011 during the show's first season and before it became a global phenomenon.
In the video below, Wendy Williams claims that Jason Momoa should be the "sexiest man alive":The actor revealed that after receiving his paycheque for Game of Thrones, he found himself in serious financial difficulties - something that had a knock-on effect on the rest of his family.
"I mean, we were starving after Game of Thrones," Momoa told InStyle magazine. "I couldn't get work. It's very challenging when you have babies and you're completely in debt."
The 41-year-old actor has two children with wife and fellow actor, Lisa Bonet, daughter Lola and son Nakoa-Wolf.
Bonet starred in The Cosby Show from 1984 to 1992 and is the ex-wife of Lenny Kravitz and mother of Zoe Isabella Kravitz.
Momoa's acting fortunes took a dramatic turn for the better when he was cast as Aquaman in 2016's Justice League - a role which was followed in 2018 by his own breakout movie as the superhero, Aquaman.
The actor, however, now has a packed schedule, and news.com.au reports that he will be kept busy until 2024 with roles in Apple TV+'s See, Denis Villeneuve's adaptation of Dune, and an Aquaman sequel.
The actor explained that when he saw the Dune trailer for the first time, he was in awe about how far his career has progressed in recent years.
"It was 'Josh Brolin, Jason Momoa, Javier Bardem,' and I’m just like, 'Oh my god. I can’t believe my name was with those names.' I feel like I’m still a kid, freaking out," he said.
Momoa said that he's excited for people to watch the film because of how relevant he thinks it is to today's society.
"It's not alien versus alien - it's about conflicts between human tribes," Momoa said. "And greed. It really hits home right now."
This new revelation bout Momoa's finances comes after the actor revealed that "serious stuff" went down on the set of Justice League earlier this year.
