Jason Momoa was seen out for the first time since announcing his split from wife Lisa Bonet.

The Aquaman star, 42, has ditched his wedding ring in a bid to move on after announcing the sad news of the pair's divorce last week.

Momoa was seen in Los Angeles wearing a black T-shirt and jeans while covering up in a black face mask and hat on Sunday. The actor was seen without his wedding ring as he carried a cardboard box outside of a grocery store.

Last week, Momoa revealed he and Bonet, 54, had split after nearly 17 years together and five years of marriage in a now-deleted Instagram post in a joint statement as Bonet does not have a social media presence.

"We have all felt the squeeze and changes of these transformational times," the Aquaman star wrote. "A revolution is unfolding ~and our family is of no exception… feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring."

"And so ~ We share our family news: That we are parting ways in marriage. We share this not because we think it’s newsworthy ~ but so that~ as we go about our lives we may do so with dignity and honesty."

The pair married in October 2017 after dating for more than a decade. It was the first marriage for Momoa and the second for Bonet who had been married to rockstar Lenny Kravitz from 1987 to 1993.

Their statement on Wednesday, January 12, stressed they were separating to set a good example for their kids.

"The love between us carries on, evolving in ways it wishes to be known and lived," the statement continued. "We free each other ~ to be who we are learning to become… our devotion unwavering to this sacred life and our Children."

The couple shares two children, daughter Lola and son, Nakoa-Wolf.

The joint statement was signed "J & L" with the valediction: "Teaching our Children What’s possible ~ Living the Prayer ... May Love Prevail."

Along with the announcement, Momoa shared several photos in his post, including one of a sunset sky, one of a person holding a baby bird and wearing a shirt that reads "May my soul shout love", and another close-up of the hands holding the young bird.
