Jennifer Aniston has shared her thoughts on backhanded compliments - particularly those about looking "great for her age".
The former Friends star, 54, has been well known for her fitness regime throughout the years, but admitted her frustration that some of the compliments she receives come with the caveat "for your age".
She revealed to British Vogue: "It drives me bananas; I can’t stand it. That’s a habit of society that we have these markers like, 'Well, you’re at that stage, so for your age…' I don’t even understand what it means."
The actress has been focusing on her mind and body in recent years and believes both are actually in far better shape than they were in her 20s, at the height of her fame,

Jennifer continued: "I’m in better shape than I was in my 20s; I feel better in mind, body, and spirit. It’s all 100% better."
She hopes that by taking a holistic approach to wellness, she can continue to enjoy a long and happy life well in to old age in the future.
"My family lives a long time, especially my dad’s side - I want to be thriving; I don’t want to just be alive," she added.
The Emmy award winner revealed that she has also switched up how she exercises, going for lower impact workouts which provide greater results than just trying to go as hard as you physically can at the gym.
"It used to be pounding, pounding, pounding. You had to get 45 minutes to an hour of cardio; otherwise, you weren’t getting a workout," Jennifer said. "Not only do you stress your body, you burn out – who wants to do that at all?"
She also told InStyle: "When you're in a mindset of, 'I need to do 45 minutes of cardio, or I won't get a good workout,' it's daunting. I believed it for so long. I just burnt out and broke my body."
Earlier in the year, she told USA Today: "As I get older, I want my body to thrive."

And while Jennifer seems to defy the decades and never age herself, she admitted that everyone's journey is different, thanks to a whole host of factors, from lifestyle to genetics.
She added: "I’m always up on the newest technology and [wondering] how can we improve our health in any way we can?
"We’re all going to get older. We’re all headed to that exact same spot. But we can take care of our skin. We can have a healthy diet. We can drink lots of water."
Whatever Jen's doing is clearly working and she looks simply great - without
