Beloved actor John Travolta decided to celebrate the big 6-9 in style, after reportedly chartering a flight to Las Vegas to celebrate his birthday. Oh, how the other half live!

The widowed father-of-three - who sadly lost his wife of almost 30 years, Kelly Preston, in 2020 - was joined by his only daughter Ella Bleu, 22, and several of his close friends on the trip, The Daily Mail reports.

Taking to Instagram, the 69-year-old posted a compilation of short clips from the journey, set to Elvis' hit song 'Viva Las Vegas'.

"I wanted to make my favorite childhood airline poster come to life for my birthday! So here we go! Viva Las Vegas!" he captioned the upload.

In the video, Travolta is sporting a smart tuxedo and Ella dons a black sequinned maxi dress, while the rest of the guests are also dressed to the nines. The group is seen enjoying a delicious-looking steak meal, with the Grease actor including a clip of his martini as he checked out the view from his window.

The latest birthday celebrations mark the second since the passing of his wife, who died aged 57 after a battle with breast cancer. At the time, a family representative told PEOPLE: "On the morning of July 12, 2020, Kelly Preston, adored wife and mother, passed away following a two-year battle with breast cancer. Choosing to keep her fight private, she had been undergoing medical treatment for some time, supported by her closest family and friends.

"She was a bright, beautiful and loving soul who cared deeply about others and who brought life to everything she touched. Her family asks for your understanding of their need for privacy at this time," the statement added.

Just 11 years earlier, Travolta and Preston suffered a tragedy in 2009 when their oldest son Jett died aged just 16 from a fatal seizure while on holiday in the Bahamas, E! Online reported at the time.

A paramedic who responded to an emergency call following the incident told Good Morning America: "I'll never forget this day. I saw him lean over and hug his son and kiss his son and tell him he loved him and I did everything I could. I saw love in his eyes, I saw love."

He continued: "[Travolta] hugged him, put his arm around him, kissed him on the forehead and the cheek and told him he loved him. He then turned to me and gave me a hug and said, 'You guys did a wonderful job.'"

Despite the heartache, Travolta is clearly making the most of the special moments with his daughter and his friends, enjoying what looked to be an incredible birthday celebration nonetheless.

And if this is what he does for his 69th birthday, we can only imagine what he has planned for next year, when he hits the big 7-0. It's going to have to be pretty big to top this one!
