Princess Catherine's uncle has shared his opinion on Meghan Markle and her impact on the Royal Family while appearing in a UK reality show.

Gary Goldsmith, 58, is the younger brother of the Princess of Wales's mother, Carole Middleton, and is currently appearing on the UK series Celebrity Big Brother.

He and 12 other contestants are locked into a compound with no access to the outside world or cell phones and cameras are on them 24/7.

Just one day after entering the show, Gary was quizzed by the other contestants on his opinions on Meghan, and he was not shy about saying how he really felt.

Gary was seen speaking to Sharon Osbourne, 71, who is also taking part in the show, as the pair discussed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the impact their relationship has had on the Royals.

While Gary believes that Prince Harry, 39, will eventually "come back and be part of the gang again one day," he was less kind about Meghan, 42.

He told Sharon: "I have an opinion that Harry was really, really, really loved and when they were a threesome, so Kate, William, and Harry they looked really comfortable together.

"Then suddenly there’s an extra dynamic that comes in, puts a stick in the spokes and creates so much drama that I don’t genuinely think is there, and rewrote the history, saying how unhappy he was and I just don’t think that’s fair."

Despite admitting that he had never actually met Meghan in person, Gary added that he is not surprised of the apparent rift between Harry and the rest of the family.

He continued: "I mean you can’t throw your family under the bus in such a dramatic style, then write books about it and expect to be invited round for Christmas.

"I think it’s really sad. At some point, I think he is going to come back and be a part of the gang again. He might need to. We are a very forgiving nation, it would be nice if he did."

Sharon was more reserved with her opinion on the Sussexes, saying: "I think [Harry] is foolish but he is not a bad person. In the beginning, they were very very well received."

She added: "They don’t understand it, but they do love it, you know? But it’s dwindling, dwindling, dwindling and there’s been some deals that they have done that haven’t worked well."

After Gary's comments about the couple, viewers took to social media to defend Meghan and Harry, commenting: "Right, get Gary out immediately. Not this Meghan and Harry hating."

Others added: "Gary slamdering Meghan Markle even tho hes never met her, he needs to stfu swiftly," (sic) and: "Imagine Gary saying that Harry and Meghan sold out the Royal Family. But then using your weak relationship with Kate as an excuse to call yourself a celebrity to go on Big Brother and then gossip about your family on TV."

While Gary has been appearing on TV, Princess Catherine has been continuing her recovery following abdominal surgery in January.

The princess was seen for the first time since the procedure on Monday, as she was photographed being driven in a car by her mother.
