Keanu Reeves has paid tribute to the late actor Lance Reddick alongside his John Wick co-stars as they wore blue ribbons in honor of their friend.

Lance Reddick sadly passed away on March 17 at the age of 60, as was confirmed by his publicist Mia Hansen who said: "Lance will be greatly missed. Please respect his family's privacy at this time."

The news of his death was met with an outpouring of grief from his colleagues, friends, and fans as they all rushed to pay their respects to a man who became a staple on both the big and small screen.

Reddick was notable for his appearances in Lost, The Wire, and Fringe and was taking part in a press tour for the release of the fourth installment of the John Wick franchise.

The late actor appeared alongside Hollywood icon Keanu Reeves, and it is the Matrix alum and his co-stars who have paid tribute to their friend and colleague in a touching way.

On Monday night (March 20), stars flocked to the TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles for the premier of the new John Wick movie, and they then headed to the Hard Rock Cafe Hollywood for an afterparty.

As reported by PEOPLE, when guests arrived at the party they were handed a small blue ribbon with a note that read: "We kindly ask you to wear this royal blue ribbon in honor of our dear friend Lance Reddick." Blue was selected as it was reportedly Reddick's favorite color.

Joining Reeves in wearing the blue ribbon included Donnie Yen, Shamier Anderson, Hiroyuki Sanada, Laurence Fishburne, Natalia Tena, Clancy Brown, Ian McShane, and the movie's director Chad Stahelski.

Speaking about his friend, Reeves told People: "We worked together on four films over 10 years. He was a remarkable artist and a special person with grace and dignity.

"I guess what comes to mind right now is the first time that I met him and we worked together on John Wick he had this idea for the way that he wanted the character to speak. Just his enthusiasm and passion, and the way that he and I got to work and kind of speak the unspoken, that connection, it's just really cool."

Reeves added: "I always thought that the connection between John Wick and Charon was special. I always said to him that people liked John Wick because he liked John Wick."

Following the announcement of Reddick's sudden death, Reeves led tributes for the actor in a shared statement with Stahelski.

"We are deeply saddened and heartbroken at the loss of our beloved friend and colleague Lance Reddick," the statement began.

"He was the consummate professional and a joy to work with. Our love and prayers are with his wife Stephanie, his children, family, and friends. We dedicate the film to his loving memory. We will miss him dearly."

Reddick touched many lives both on and off-screen, and our thoughts remain with his family, friends, and fans.
