Keanu Reeves's girlfriend Alexandra Grant has given fans a very sweet insight into their relationship in a rare interview.

The couple, who went public with their relationship in 2019 but had been dating secretly prior to that, largely keep their relationship out of the limelight.

Fans were therefore over the moon when Alexandra, 50, spoke out about her John Wick star beau, 59, revealing how "creative and kind" her man is.

The artist attended the Los Angeles Beverly Arts Icon Awards without Keanu on Friday and spoke to People about what she loves most about her boyfriend.

Addressing whether it's harder or easier to do red carpets alone, she told the publication: "The good news about falling in love as an adult is that I had built my own career by the time that my relationship had begun.

"I feel very confident in the relationship on the red carpet. I feel confident on it alone. It's interdependent and independent in the best ways."

Alexandra and Keanu started off as friends and collaborators, having worked together on the book Ode to Happiness in 2011, before their friendship blossomed into romance years later.

She revealed that before finding love with the actor, she had felt "stuck" and "frustrated" in her life, adding: "What I love about Keanu and our exchange is that we're pushing each other to build new roads.

"Seeing the other person's problem-solving is inspiring, like, 'Oh, well, okay, this one, that's a cul-de-sac. How do I try this other thing?'"

Alexandra then sweetly added: "He's such an inspiration to me. He's so creative, he's so kind. He works so hard."

She added that "storytelling is at the heart" of both her career as an artist and Keanu's work as an actor, and that her own work has changed a lot since falling in love with him.

Alexandra revealed: "I had a studio visit a few years ago, and this very kind, very high-level person said, 'I can see that your work has gotten happier.'

"That's real. We're all human beings. We're animals. We're expressing from where we are and certainly feeling happier. I think the work is happier."

She also revealed the reason that she was alone at the event was that Keanu had to perform with his band, Dogstar, that evening.

Alexandra is also The Matrix star's number one fan when he performs with the band, adding: "I'm really proud. I am a huge Dogstar fan.

"I had the great pleasure of going to their first public show and because I've been listening to the latest album for quite some time, I was one of the only people in the audience who knew all the lyrics. That was really cool. It's fun. It's beyond fun."

She revealed that she was dancing to all of the lyrics before realizing she was one of the few that had the honor of hearing the album at that stage, and was "so proud" and "happy" that Keanu had reunited with his alternative rock band this year, for the first time in two decades.

These two are serious couple goals.
