It seems inflation is affecting more than rent and grocery prices... it's apparently having an impact on Leonardo DiCaprio's supposed dating age limit - as he's recently been spotted cozying up to Gigi Hadid who, at 27, is two years older than anyone the actor's ever dated.
Twitter has been a flurry of activity as fans of the actor, 47, and the supermodel have raced to the social media platform to share their opinions on the pair's rumored romance.
It seems that, while The Revenant actor won an Oscar for narrowly escaping a vicious bear attack, he can't quite escape the incessant memes directed at him post-split from 25-year-old Camila Morrone. The pair dated for four years, beginning their romance when Morrone was only 20.
After being papped together for the first time over the weekend at a friend's party in New York City - following weeks of speculation - the humorous tweets about Gigi and Leo came flooding in. And boy, they did not disappoint.
"Due to inflation, Leo's girlfriend's age rises by 20% [sic]," someone wrote.
While another user jokingly remarked: "Omg she could be your mother Leo what are you doing [sic]?"
"Didn't someone say there's a Mercury Retrograde? Because that's the only thing that has [Leonardo DiCaprio] dating anyone over 25 a reality," another person chimed in.
Per the Daily Mail, the pair were spotted engaging in deep conversation at a party thrown by the Oscar winner's friends at Casa Cipriani, Manhattan.
The actor was wearing all black, complete with a baseball cap which has seemingly become his accessory of choice lately. Though the images are a little grainy, Leo appears to be putting his hand on Gigi's shoulder and, in later pictures, the pair appear to be holding each others hands.
As previously reported, the pair have so far been "getting to know" each other in recent weeks - but that "Leo is definitely pursuing Gigi."
While the Victoria's Secret alum, fashion designer, and repeat Vogue cover girl is Leo's type physically, the Titanic actor has never dated anyone with a child. Gigi has a two-year-old daughter, Khai, with estranged ex-partner and former One Direction member, Zayn Malik.
In fact, Zayn and Gigi were on-and-off again for around five years, before the Pillow Talk singer allegedly assaulted Gigi's mother, Yolanda, soon after the birth of his daughter.
As reported by the Daily Mail, he was charged with four counts of harassment, pleading guilty to all of them. He eventually was sentenced to 360 days community service.
Previously, Gigi has also been linked to Australian singer, Cody Simpson, and Joe Jonas (the couple were affectionately known as G.I. Joe).
As for Leo, his list is a little longer, though he seems to stick to a few trends when dating - generally his girlfriends are tall, blonde, and never over the age of 25. In fact, Leo was the butt of many jokes when news of his split with Morrone was announced - especially as she had only just turned 25 months prior.
The couple had already moved in together, however, soon after news of their split went public Morrone was seen looking at properties in Malibu, California.
Speaking of Leo and Gigi, only time will tell whether rumors of a budding romance between them are actually based on fact. In the meantime, is it too soon to come up with a couple nickname that rivals Bennifer or Brangelina? What about Geonardo? GiCaprio?
