Now, the 'Like A Virgin' singer, 64, appears to have clapped back at haters, saying: "The only mistake I made is being too iconic."
The recent controversy around Madonna began when the star posted a couple of video clips to TikTok which fans branded "disturbing".
One video showed her twerking in her underwear, while another featured her lipsyncing aggressively to the lyrics: "Have you ever been punched in the motherf****n face?"

Another commented: "Who are you?? And what have you done with the real old icon Madonna," while a third added: "Please bring the old Madonna back or go away. Retire."
A fourth slammed the video as "disturbing."




In the wake of the criticism, Madonna again took to TikTok to make it perfectly clear that she didn't care what anyone thought.
The Queen of Pop shared a clip of herself lip-syncing to a popular TikTok track in what appeared to be a pointed response to her critics.
"I would like to apologize… to absolutely nobody," she lip-synced, before pretending to giggle.
She continues to lip-sync to the audio, saying: "The only mistake I made is being too iconic. So keep fantasizing… I’m not apologizing."
Watch the full TikTok below:Some fans were won over by the video and left comments supporting Madonna. "Unapologetic queen," one wrote. Another added: "Why do people act surprised or shocked this is who she always was. Sure she is older but let her live life age is only a number."
However, many people still felt that Madonna's behavior was a sign that something was not right with the star.



"I think she may be unwell and needs help, I hope she gets the help she needs," one person commented. A second agreed, writing: "What happened to Madonna? Frightening!!!!!"
