Mark Wahlberg has said that moving his family from Hollywood to Vegas has given his children "a chance to thrive" as he raves about his new home.

Wahlberg, 51, is arguably one of the most versatile actors around as he seamlessly moves from dramatic roles to comedy at a moment's notice.

Typically, a large amount of Hollywood's top names live in the area in luxurious houses but it would seem that some celebrities have had enough and are seeking to move away.

Wahlberg moved to Nevada last fall with his family, where he opened his second Wahlburger restaurant on the Vegas strip, as reported by Fox News Digital.

In an interview with the outlet, the 51-year-old opened up about his move to Vegas where he revealed: "It's really giving the kids a chance to thrive."

"It just has the best of both worlds. I know a lot of people, when they think Las Vegas, they think the Strip. But just about 15, 20 minutes away, there's a whole lot of other amazing areas that are all about family and community," he continued.

Wahlberg reportedly sold his Los Angeles home for $87.5 million in April 2022 before buying a new property just outside of Vegas.

The actor revealed that moving away from LA was intended to give his children an opportunity to pursue "their goals and dreams," which they appear to have done.

He shares four children with his wife, 44-year-old Rhea Durham - daughters Ella, 19, and Grace, 13, and sons Michael, 17, and Brendan, 14.

"My daughter's an equestrian," Wahlberg went on. "My son's a golfer. My oldest daughter, now she's off to college. My son's a junior.

"There's lots of opportunity here as well for me. We're trying to create a studio. We're trying to build the shoe factory. We want to create lots of jobs here."

Wahlberg further explained that he believes the quality of life to be better in Vegas, as well as it being more affordable for his future endeavors.

His intention is to turn Vegas into "Hollywood 2.0" as he seeks to open studios that will "create 10,000 jobs," with "the average salary [being] $100,000 more than what it is now. We want to train people both in front of and behind the camera, create jobs, most importantly, first and foremost, for locals."

Wahlberg credits the income tax-free policies of Nevada that promote a better quality of living, as he quotes those who owned three-bedroom homes in LA now boast a six-bedroom property in Vegas.
