Matthew Lawrence has recently claimed that he was fired by his agency and even lost out on a Marvel role after refusing to strip naked for a prominent director.

The 43-year-old actor - who shot to fame playing Robin Williams' son in the family favorite Mrs. Doubtfire - made the revelation on a recent episode of his podcast Brotherly Love, which he hosts with his siblings Joel and Andy.

Lawrence centered the episode around the #MeToo movement, telling his brothers that he believed it was a "good thing".

However, he also admitted that he had previously been propositioned by both female and male directors multiple times for major starring roles.

"There have been many times in my life where I've been propositioned to get a huge role. I've lost my agency because I went to the hotel room, which I can't believe they would send me to, of a very prominent Oscar award-winning director who showed up in his robe, asked me to take my clothes off and said he needed to take Polaroids of me," Lawrence said.

He then added: "And then if I did X, Y and Z, I would be the next Marvel character. I didn't do that, and my agency fired me because I left this director's room."

While he didn't mention specific names, Lawrence did claim that he was not the only one to have experienced this. "A lot of other friends have gone through it. Both men and women," he added.

The Boy Meets World actor also stated that he believes there is a double standard in Hollywood when it comes to sexual assault, and that men who are sexually harassed do not receive the same level of support as women do.

As an example, Lawrence cited a 2016 incident in which Terry Crews alleged that he was molested by WME agent Adam Venit at a party and people didn't believe him, Deadline detailed.

Crews eventually received an apology from Venit, which he subsequently posted on Twitter.

It's possible that people perhaps didn't believe the White Chicks star - an incredibly muscular actor and former NFL athlete - could have been in such a situation. This is something Lawrence referenced when discussing the apparent gender bias in coming forward with allegations of sexual assault.

"Terry Crews comes out and says it; people are laughing at him. People don't support him. They kick him out. Why? Because he's a man that represents masculinity, and I think our society is less ready to hear that situation going on with men than they are with women," he remarked.
