The first volume of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's hugely anticipated Netflix documentary has finally been released.
On December 8, the first three episodes of the former royal couple's docuseries, Harry and Meghan, dropped on the streaming service.
The platform teased the docuseries as "unprecedented" and promised an in-depth view from the couple's perspective on British royalty, as well as addressing the racism experienced by Markle, life with Princess Diana, and the tumultuous coverage of them in the media.
Within the first few minutes of the first episode, the 41-year-old Suits alum reflected on her decision to step back from royal duties in a clip filmed in Canada.
In the clip, a barefaced Duchess of Sussex is seen talking to the camera wearing a low-key denim shirt and jeans, with her towel wrapped around her hair. It was a different side of the usually glamorous Markle the public is used to seeing.
The Duchess first says: "H (Harry) is in London, and I am here," before the camera reverts back to the 38-year-old Prince at Heathrow Airport, saying: "I'm just genuinely concerned for my family."
She then breaks down in tears as she explains: "I just really want to get to the other side of all this. I don't really know what to say anymore."
"Unfortunate in not standing for something. They are destroying us," she emotionally added - accusing the palace of failing to confront the UK media over its treatment of her and her husband.
The camera then goes back to the Duke, who interjects: "No one knows the full truth. We know the full truth. The institution knows the full truth. And the media knows the full truth because they've been in on it."
"I think anybody in my situation would've done the exact same thing," the footage concluded.
The Sussex couple has already made several claims in the first volume, saying they had no security from the Royal Family and blamed associates for vigorously leaking and "planting" stories against them as part of a "dirty game".
While the streaming giant put out a disclaimer that members of the palace "declined to comment" on the content, a source told The Mirror that they believe the series with be short on new revelations.
"There's a real feeling in the camp that Harry and Meghan are making a lot of noise and there isn't much more to say. But preparations are being made for all outcomes, especially if there are unjust accusations being made," they said.
The docuseries will air in two volumes with the first three episodes out now. Netflix will then release the remaining three episodes a week later, on December 15.
