Fans of the hit series Only Murders in the Building are beside themselves with excitement after learning that Meryl Streep will appear in the third season, per BuzzFeed.
The veteran actress has been announced as the latest addition to the Hulu and Disney+ series, which centers on three apartment building residents and true crime enthusiasts as they investigate a grisly murder in their block.
The first two seasons have seen Selena Gomez, Steve Martin, and Martin Short as recurring cast members, and the second season included model-turned-actress Cara Delevingne.
After it was released, the comedy-drama series received significant praise on Rotten Tomatoes, with an average rating of an impressive 99%.

"Hey guys, we're on set!" Gomez said in an Instagram video, that showed Martin and Short sitting next to her on the sofa on set. "The gang is back," she continued, before asking: "Can this honestly get any better?
"Oh, wait..." the 'Lose You To Love Me' singer added, turning the camera to actor Paul Rudd, who said: "Well, I do think it could get a little bit better." Streep then pops up from behind the sofa, jokingly offering Martin a pillow for behind his back. The decorated actress has won numerous accolades for her acting - including three Emmys, three Oscars, and three Golden Globes.
Naturally, the internet lost it when the video was released, and hundreds of people took to the comments section to express their excitement at the news.

Another added: "WHAAAAT THE ACTUAL --- NO WAAAYY, GIMME SEASON 3 NOW! I NEED IT AND IM NOT JOKING gosh this will be so huge."
"What I'd give to sit with this crew for dinner one night," someone else chimed in, and I have to agree!
Back in December, Gomez had given an interview with Vogue, where she was asked about who her dream guest star would be. "I would reach for the biggest of all…probably Meryl or someone really amazing like that," she said, which we now know to be a secret reveal!
Gomez has mentioned Streep before in several interviews, like this one for Deadline in June last year where she stated that the Sophie's Choice actress had congratulated her on her role in the murder mystery series.
"Meryl Streep came up to me and complimented the show. It was very sweet. Otherwise, I just have older guys with suede elbow patches who come up and go, 'You did well on that show,'" she said.
As for how she first got the call to appear on the show, Gomez stated that it was something she'd wanted to do, given her "obsession with true crime" saying: "They pitched me the idea and it led into a whole conversation about my actual obsession with true crime. I had just come back from CrimeCon when I had the call and it just felt like it was something I really wanted to do. They were all so lovely. And working with Steve and Marty would be a dream."
