America's Got Talent singer Nightbirde has been forced to quit the show.

The 30-year-old singer, whose real name is Jane Marczewski, has revealed that she was compelled to exit the popular talent show after her cancer diagnosis worsened.

Taking to Instagram, she uploaded a black and white picture of herself looking wistfully out of frame.

"Sharing my heart with the world on AGT has been an honor and a dream come true. My point of view this summer has been astounding," she wrote alongside the image.

"What a miracle that the pain I’ve walked through can be reworked into beauty that makes people all over the world open their eyes wider."

Marczewski then continued: "Since my audition, my health has taken a turn for the worse and the fight with cancer is demanding all of my energy and attention.

"I am so sad to announce that I won’t be able to continue forward on this season of AGT. Life doesn't always give breaks to those that deserve it - but we knew that already."

"Thank you for all your support, it means the world to me. Stay with me, I'll be better soon. I'm planning my future, not my legacy. Pretty beat up, but I've still got dreams," she added.

Her post clearly resonated with her fans, racking up over 259,000 likes and a further 28,000 comments, at the time of writing.

While another added: "I'm praying for you [...] as I also am battling lung cancer and you have been giving me sooo much motivation. We will get through this [sic]"

In a blog post on her website, Nightbirde previously revealed that she was diagnosed with terminal cancer after a great many tumors were found on her lungs, liver, lymph nodes, ribs, and spine, back in 2019.

She was given only six months to live and a mere two percent chance of survival. Yet she appeared to defy the odds when her cancer went into remission in 2020.
