Rockstar Neil Young has launched a scathing attack on Donald Trump on his website.

This comes as President Trump begins his campaign to have his presidency renewed for a second term in November.

In his critique of the current president in an open letter, Young warned Republicans that their leader was lying to them and appeared to publicly supported Democrat Bernie Sanders' presidential bid.

In the video below, world leaders appear to gossip about Donald Trump:

Young began by describing Trump as "a disgrace to my country" and slammed his "unforgivable" attacks on the environment and America's allies. He then unfavorably compared the current president to his predecessor, Obama.

"Our first black president was a better man than you are," Young wrote.

The 74-year-old then slammed the president's claims to have improved the American economy, saying that the current situation is the result of "what you inherited almost 4 years ago."

In addition, the rock veteran specifically addressed Trump's supporters.

"I support their right to express themselves, although they have been lied to, and in many cases believed the lies," Young wrote. "They are true Americans. I have their back."

While Young didn't promote any of Trump's opponents specifically by name, he did write, "His initials are BS. Not his policies."

For his final criticism of the president, Young turned Trump's famous slogan on its head: "We are going to vote you out and Make America Great Again."

Young ended his critique of the present with a link to his song Children of Destiny. It was released in 2017 and contains the following chorus:

"Stand up for what you believe
Resist the 'powers that be'
Preserve the ways of democracy
So the children can be free
The children of destiny"

Meanwhile, in other President Trump news, a picture of him returning to the White House has become the internet's favorite new meme.
