In an unsurprising turn of events, people are now petitioning for a Baby Yoda emoji.

Now, on the off chance that you've been living under a rock, you'll know that Baby Yoda is the undisputed star of the new Disney+ series, The Mandalorian. Known as "The Child" in the show, he is actually 50 years old (but still a child by his unidentified species' standards).

From the moment the first Mandalorian episode aired on Disney+, Baby Yoda became a hit with audiences for his big, black eyes, adorable cooing, and his ability to bring out the bounty hunter's soft side.

Established by Travis Bumble, the petition has been an instant hit just like Baby Yoda, and he is hoping that Apple will listen to the people.

"I think Baby Yoda should be an emoji," Bramble explained.

"He stole our hearts and now I want him to steal our keyboard space," Bramble continued. "Your friend shares a pic of her newborn baby? Respond with a cute little Baby Yoda emoji to show that you think her little rascal is cute beyond words. You're sick and your mom texts you 'Do you want some soup?' Respond back with a cute little Baby Yoda to show her that your thirst for soup is insatiable."

"Join me [in] this movement and let your voices be heard. WE WANT BABY YODA EMOJI!!!"

Bramble set a petition goal of 15,000 signatures, and at the time of writing, there have been over 13,000, but we are so confident he will reach his goal that it's safe to say the petition will not only hit its target but exceed it too.
