A petition to remove Amber Heard from her starring role in Aquaman 2 has garnered almost a million signatures.
At the time of writing, the Change.org petition titled 'Remove Amber Heard From Aquaman 2' has received 991,000 signatures and counting.
This comes after Johnny Depp was asked by Warner Brothers to step down from his role as Gellert Grindelwald in the Fantastic Beasts series after losing his libel case against The Sun newspaper.
In the video below, Amber Heard describes her marriage to Johnny Depp:The case was centered around whether or not The Sun's decision to brand Depp a "wife-beater" was libelous, as per the Hollywood Reporter.
The petition against Heard argues that she has "systematically crusaded to ruin Depp in Hollywood, repeating multiple accounts of fake incidents in which she had actually abused Johnny Depp, but lied and created false accounts of him being the abuser."
It adds that "men are victims of domestic abuse, just like women".
In his lawsuit against the newspaper, Depp claimed that his reputation was damaged by The Sun's publication of the article next to content about convicted sex offender Harvey Weinstein.
Per the Guardian, The Sun claimed that Depp assaulted his 34-year-old ex-wife Amber Heard in what has been described as the biggest libel case of the 21st century.
After losing his case against The Sun, Depp took to social media to state that he would be appealing the newspaper's decision and to thank fans for their continued support.
He wrote: "Firstly, I'd like to thank everyone who gifted me their support and loyalty.
"Secondly, I wish to let you know that I have been asked to resign by Warner Bros. from my role as Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts and I have respected and agreed to that request.
"Finally, I wish to say this.
"The surreal judgement of the court in the UK will not change my fight to tell the truth and I confirm that I plan to appeal.
"My resolve remains strong and I intend to prove that the allegations against me are false.
"My life and career will not be defined by this moment in time."
However, Heard is not the only person who has become the subject of a petition as a result of the case, and Depp fans have also created one calling for his reinstatement as Gellert Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts 3.
The Change.org petition has received over 175K signatures at the time of writing.
