Piers Morgan has been slammed online for his "misogynistic" comments on Emily Ratajkowski's Oscars dress.

The 57-year-old TV presenter had been discussing the highly-anticipated celebrity event on his TalkTV show Piers Morgan Uncensored - taking the opportunity to discuss some of the outfits worn at the Vanity Fair After Party later in the evening.

In particular, Morgan hit out at model and author Ratajkowski, 31, and Euphoria actress Hunter Schafer, 24.

Schafer made global fashion headlines when she turned up on the blue carpet showcasing her Ann Demeuleemeester outfit, which consisted of a white silk maxi-skirt and a lone white feather placed over her nipples.

Ratajkowski stuck to a similar theme, wearing a long sleeved sheer Feben maxi dress that exposed her bare breasts, as well as the seamless nude cheeky-cut underwear she sported underneath.

"This is not what the Oscars is supposed to be about - where's the glamour in this?" Morgan said, via The Independent. "This is like a bunch of strippers." He then added: "By the way, I have no problem with strippers but not at the Oscars. Look at the Oscars back in the fifties. It's a completely different vibe."

The controversial British personality - who continuously causes a stir with his comments on celebrities - then continued slamming the outfits, saying: "The great thing about the old stars was that they didn't feel that desperation first to be noticed, they didn't need it. Now it's all like look at my naked flesh, not even look at my talent and my glamour and my beauty."

Morgan also hit out at Ratajkowski, questioning why the New York-based supermodel was even at the event in the first place, remarking: "What is Emily Ratajkowski doing there anyway? How does she qualify to be anywhere near an Oscars party? She turned up in more clothes than she normally wears - ie not very many - but what's she doing there?"

Twitter wasn't happy with the comments Morgan made, with one person writing: "Getting creepier and creepier. Why does media insist on employing creepy misogynistic old men. The only people who listen to them are even creepier old men."

"Unusual of him to say inappropriate things about women decades younger than him," another person added.

"Simple: Elon should ban limp biscuit misogynist Piers Morgan. Problem solved," a further user chimed in.

One person took the opportunity to highlight the hypocrisy of the situation, especially since Morgan previously uploaded an image of his wife in lingerie to his Twitter account, saying: "Yet you put pictures of your wife actually posing like a stripper on Twitter." Yikes!
