Rupert Grint has recently opened up about the inspiration behind the name of his two-year-old daughter.
During a new interview on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Grint got candid about his family life, telling the host that his family is doing well, especially his daughter, Wednesday.
The actor, best known for his role as Ronald Weasley in the popular Harry Potter series, welcomed his daughter to the world back in 2020 alongside his partner, 30-year-old Georgia Groome.
Since then, the pair have been pretty private about their personal lives, keeping a lot of the finer details under wraps... until now.
"Great name, by the way, Wednesday!", Fallon said, before asking: "Why Wednesday?"
"Well...", the 34-year-old began. "I mean, I'm always hesitant to say The Addams Family! But yeah, it was kind of The Addams Family.
"Just always loved the name... it's kind of memorable."
And the iconic character isn't the only one Grint was inspired by as he revealed that Wednesday's full name - which is Wednesday G. Grint - was inspired by Samuel L. Jackson.
"Samuel L. Jackson kind of inspired that," Grint said when asked about what the 'G' stood for.
"Yeah we love the idea of, like, an initial like 'Samuel L. Jackson', 'Michael J. Fox', that kind of 'speaking the initials'. So she's Wednesday G. Grint."
And of course, fans were loving it.
"RUPERT GRINT NAMED HIS FIRST CHILD WEDNESDAY," emphasized one user.
"I saw a Tiktok earlier that reminded me that Rupert Grint and Georgia Groome are together with a child. I also love that they named their daughter Wednesday because they’re fans of the Addams Family. And I hope one day they dress her up as a stuffed olive," a second user added.
This user seemed to be surprised at the name choice, saying: "Just found out rupert grint named his daughter Wednesday. I'm crying," before following up by referring to it as "iconic."
"He honestly couldn’t have timed naming her any better tbh and I love it so much. It’s so unique and truly fits their personalities. Wednesday made being named Wednesday cool before 2022," someone else wrote.
Elsewhere in the interview he also talked about how his two-year-old is obsessed (and I mean obsessed) with going to Target. You would assume that any kid that loves shopping would go for the toys, right?
Well, Grint's daughter seems to always have her eyes on something else...
The actor opened up about how the little one is missing "some cultural things" from America since the family moved to the United Kingdom.
"She does love Philly. She loves hoagies, she loves water ice. And I mean the big one is Target. She is obsessed with Target," he explained to Fallon. "She'd choose that over going to the park, or zoo. But she loves going to different Targets and seeing how the layout is kind of slightly different."
"Sometimes she doesn't buy anything, she just wants to kind of browse," he continued, as everyone laughed. "The toy aisle is definitely a draw, but she's more into lip balm, to be fair."
That girl's clearly got a unique taste!
