It has been reported that Sam Asghari underwent a dramatic transformation before he got married to Britney Spears.
According to a report by the Daily Mail, the 29-year-old totally changed up his life in order to star in the Grammy-award-winning singer's music video.
Asghari, who was born in Iran, moved to the United States with his dad when he was six years old. After failing to start a professional career in the world of football, he switched to trying his hand at criminal justice.
But between working three jobs to pay for his education and developing unhealthy lifestyle habits, the personal trainer was forced to reconsider his options.
In an interview with Men's Health, he recalled his previous life telling the outlet: "'I was eating Doritos for breakfast, fast food, sugar, candy, no protein, a lot of carbs, and drinking sugary sodas."
"My nutrition was extremely horrible," he continued. "The stress and the fear of not going anywhere [in life] combined gave me my depression."
But in 2013, things changed.
"I could either continue going through the same thing or I could give it another 100 percent," Asghari says he told himself. "I didn’t want to have to deal with that depression and disappointment anymore. I had to restart."
Not only that, due to his poor diet, his teeth started rotting, which meant he had to get them fixed.
With strength and disciplin, Asghari also shredded a whopping 100lbs and after his transformation, Asghari eventually landed himself a role on Spears' 'Slumber Party' music video in 2016 where he started a romantic relationship with the singer.
During a 2017 interview, Spears recalled meeting Asghari: "I was like, 'He was really cute, this guy was really cute,' so I called him. He's just a really fun, funny person."
Asghari has made headlines in recent days after he filed for divorce from his ex-wife after only 14 months of marriage.
According to TMZ, the 29-year-old cited "irreconcilable differences" as the defining reason as to why he decided to end their marriage. Rumors of infidelity have also circulated during their time together, contributing to further toxicity within their relationship.
Insiders revealed that the split was anticipated, with a source sharing: "It's only a matter of time before Sam files for divorce," shortly after news of their separation emerged.
Following the sudden split, Spears spoke out about the drama on Instagram, alongside a video of herself dancing in her Thousand Oaks home.
"As everyone knows, Hesam and I are no longer together... 6 years is a long time to be with someone so, I’m a little shocked but...I’m not here to explain why because its honestly nobody’s business," the star wrote.
She continued: "I couldn’t take the pain anymore honestly !!! In some sort of telepathic way I have been receiving so many messages that melt my heart from friends and I thank you."
The 'Toxic' hitmaker explained that she had been "playing it strong" and the version of herself that she portrays on social media isn't true to what was happening behind the scenes.
"I would love to show my emotions and tears on how I really feel but some reason I’ve always had to hide my weaknesses," she said. "If I wasn’t my dad’s strong soldier, I would be sent away to places to get fixed by doctors."
Stating that she needed her family the most and wanted to be loved unconditionally, Spears concluded: "So I will be as strong as I can and do my best !!! And I’m actually doing pretty damn good !!! Anyways have a good day and don’t forget to smile !!!"
