Sam Asghari has allegedly been threatening Britney Spears as he officially files for divorce.
As reported by VT, the pair have decided to go their separate ways, though this hasn't come without further complications as Asghari has allegedly threatened the 'Hold Me Closer' singer.
This is according to a source who spoke with Page Six.
Neal Hersh, Asghari’s lawyer, apparently hinted that the personal trainer could be looking to contest their prenup as the court documents reportedly read: "[He] has yet to determine the full nature and extent of the separate property assets and obligations of each party."
"There are various items of community and quasi-community assets and debts, the full nature and extent of which are unknown to [Sam] at this time," the documents continued.
Now, a source has told Page Six that the 29-year-old apparently wants to renegotiate their prenup in return for keeping the singer's "secrets."
The source said: "[He is] attempting to negotiate concessions beyond his prenup and threatening to go public with extraordinarily embarrassing information about Britney unless he gets paid."
"So that’s what Sam is focused on," they added.
The news comes after TMZ originally reported that the couple were calling it quits after only 14 months of marriage.
The outlet reported that Asghari cited "irreconcilable differences" as the main reason for ending the relationship, also going on to add that there were rumors about cheating that ended up causing further trust issues between them.
Spears and the fitness trainer were first romantically linked after they met on the set of her 'Slumber Party' music video back in 2016 but the 'Baby One More Time' hitmaker confirmed the news a year later.
The pair continued to see each other after that until they tied the knot in June 2022 in an intimate ceremony in California.
At the time, Asghari's representative Brandon Cohen confirmed the pair's nuptials to the Associated Press, saying: "I am very ecstatic this day has come, and they are married. I know he wanted this for so long. He is so caring and supportive every step of the way."
Just a year prior, Spears also expressed her excitement about the news of marrying her love via an Instagram post showing off her ring.
"I can't f****** believe it, [sic]" the mother-of-two captioned a series of videos on Instagram of her round-cut engagement ring, made with a four-carat diamond by Forever Diamonds NY.
Asghari also posted about the major life change on his Instagram account with a picture of the pair sharing a kiss while Spears' ring took front and center stage.
Let's hope the pair manage to work out their differences.
