Snoop Dogg has blessed Ed Sheeran with a large gold chain as a way of welcoming the singer to his record label, Death Row Records.

On March 4, the 32-year-old 'Shape of You' musician was spotted celebrating backstage at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Australia, after the iconic 51-year-old rapper's performance.

The 'Drop It Like It's Hot' musician - whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr - has a tradition of giving fellow superstars a flashy gold chain dedicated to his record label and for this special occasion, Sheeran was the lucky star.

The rapper took to his Instagram to share pictures of him placing the chunky jewelry - which is from the label's line and is $9,600 (per, Daily Mail)  - around the songwriter's neck with the caption: "Amazing. Mr Ed."

Snoop also shared a video of him wrapping the chain around the 'Bad Habits' singer's neck and telling him: "We want to see all your videos, all your dressing rooms, all your drinks, smoking all your weed - come to Death Row."

Sheeran then hilariously responded to the proposition: "Well, I’m in your dressing room, drinking all your drinks."

The unlikely duo was also joined by actor Russell Crowe, who as seen in the same video posted by Snoop, was also given a gift by the music legend.

The 'Sensual Seduction' hitmaker joked that the label wanted to recruit the 58-year-old actor and also shared a snapshot on his social media page that was a cheeky reference to Crowe's blockbuster 2000 film Gladiator, writing: "R U NOT ENTERTAINED?!?"

Upon seeing the interactions between the three stars, many users flocked to Snoop's comment section to share their reactions to the unexpected gathering.

One user wrote: "Omg. There is so much perfection in this photo. This is a trio we didn’t know we needed."

The 'Perfect' hitmaker was seen with the rapper in Australia as he is currently on the + - = ÷ x (pronounced "Mathematics") Tour, which will conclude this Sunday at the Optus Stadium in Perth. He will then embark on the UK and European leg later this month.

Last week, Sheeran announced his fifth studio album "-" (‘Subtract’) and revealed in a lengthy statement on Instagram that the record was inspired by a series of events that "changed my life, my mental health, and ultimately the way I viewed music and art" last year.

Those devastating events include his wife Cherry Seaborn being diagnosed with a tumor while pregnant with their second child, and the death of his close friend Jamal Edwards, who tragically passed away just over a year ago at the age of 31.

"I felt like I was drowning, head below the surface, looking up but not being able to break through for air," he penned, adding that this motivated him to put out a project that depicted what he was experiencing.

"It's opening the trapdoor into my soul. For the first time, I'm not trying to craft an album people will like, I'm merely putting something out that's honest and true to where I am in my adult life," he said.

Sheeran's upcoming album - Subtract - is set to be released on May 5.
