It looks like Zendaya and Tom Holland were specifically asked not to fall for each other before filming their first Spider-Man movie.

The Spider-Man star and the Euphoria actress, both 25, were reportedly advised to keep their relationship platonic by producer Amy Pascal when they were first cast in Spider-Man, according to The New York Times.

"I took Tom and Zendaya aside, separately, when we first cast them and gave them a lecture," Pascal said. "Don't go there - just don't. Try not to."

But Pascal's warning clearly fell on deaf ears — and it isn't the first time it's happened.

"I gave the same advice to Andrew [Garfield] and Emma [Stone]," the producer revealed. "It can just complicate things, you know? And they all ignored me."

Pascal - the former Sony movie exec behind the first five Spider-Man movies, as well as a producer on the last three Holland-helmed films -gave the costars the same advice she once gave Garfield and his now ex-girlfriend/costar Emma Stone.

In case you don't know, Tobey Maguire dated Kirsten Dunst, the Mary Jane to his Peter Parker, while filming Spider-Man (2002) together.

The pair broke things off ahead of the second film, according to director Sam Raimi. Since then, it's become somewhat of a tradition for the Spider-Man romantic leads to make life imitate art.

Garfield and Stone met on the set of The Amazing Spider-Man in 2012. Rumors came out that the two were dating in 2011, and they remained together for a few years before breaking up in 2015.

Indeed, Holland and Zendaya apparently followed suit. The pair have been very vocal about their admiration for one another in recent weeks.

Though their relationship is fairly new, the two were spotted kissing in Los Angeles back in July and made their red carpet debut recently.

Their new movie, Spider-Man: No Way Home, was released in theaters in the United States and the United Kingdom on Friday.

The film follows Holland's Spider-Man as he fights his way through villains from other universes – universes where Garfield and Tobey Maguire's Spider-Men live, work and fight.

Spider-Man: No Way Home was released to rave reviews and has already made millions at the box office.
