Gunn, AKA 'Raygun', a B-girl who competed in the breakdancing event at the prestigious games in Paris, was left devastated after her unique performance inspired by kangaroos scored her nil points across the board.

The 36-year-old, who is a Cultural Studies lecturer at Macquarie University in Australia, was seen wiggling about on the floor before hopping across the grand stage just like the national animal of her home country.

While she may have been inspired, the judges certainly were not, giving her zero overall.

In the wake of the unfortunate result, her family has spoken out, with Gunn's father-in-law reportedly taking to social media to rant about the event.

"It was a pretty stacked competition and the judges were clearly looking for a certain style of breaking which is not Rachael's," he said on social media as per the Daily Mail.

"Although they are supposed to mark five different aspects with each having the same weighting, in my obviously biased opinion they did not reward originality and musicality so she was up against it," he continued before adding: "The main thing is she represented Australia and breaking at the Olympics with courage and dignity."

And he wasn't the only one who disagreed with the judge's scores.

In a separate interview, Martin Gilian gave the outlet some insight into how the performances are marked.

"We have five criteria in the comparative judging system," Gilian, whose stage name is MGbility, stated. "Her level was maybe not as high as the other competitors."

He continued: "Again, we're using a comparative judging system. Her competitors were just better but it doesn't mean that she did really bad. She did her best."

He also told the BBC that Gunn's originality must be praised.

"Breaking is all about originality and bringing something new to the table... and this is exactly what Raygun was doing," he added.

And of course, social media users couldn't help but talk about her performance, with many left gagged over Gunn's unique movements.

"Raygun’s Kangaroo move was so dominant, it felt like the competition was over! Give her the #breakdancing gold 🥇. While some say #breakdancing shouldn’t be in the Olympics, it’s clearly impressive and fun," wrote one user, while another added: "Obsessed with Raygun because I identify with the level of dorkiness she projects."

However, others were not so impressed.

"It’s surprising that Raygun from Australia is the top breaker. The kangaroo move -how did she make it this far?! 👀 #BreakingForGold She should’ve swapped the kangaroo for a banana to really stand out. What is this? Seriously, is breakdancing really an Olympic event?" this user wondered.

And this person even referred to her as a "troll" writing: 'Raygun will go down as the most successful troll in Olympics history. How she pulled off this nonsense to be an Olympian representing her country in something she has zero talent or skill in needs a documentary. I wanna hear her story. #Raygun."
