What happens when you put two of the biggest and strongest men in a boxing ring and let them go for six rounds?

Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson - better known by fans as "Thor" or The Mountain from HBO's Game of Thrones - has emerged victorious after stepping into the ring to face former World's Strongest Man Eddie Hall in a monumental boxing match.

The two strongmen - who weighed a combined 650lbs going into the match - went six rounds at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium last night, in order to settle their long-running feud.

Competition between the two had been heated ever since the 2017 World's Strongest Man competition - which was won by Hall. After deciding to settle things in the ring, the result was a match that looked like it had been booked by an eight-year-old boy trying to crown a new alpha male of the entire human race.

The two behemoths had predicted a stoppage victory - but after stepping between the ropes just after 1:00AM on Sunday, the results were a little more underwhelming.

After doing battle for six rounds, Björnsson was crowned the winner by all three judges, scoring a 57-54 victory on points.

The result clearly did not sit well with Hall, despite the fact he was knocked down to the canvas TWICE during the bout.

On social media, the response to the bout was pretty much what you'd expect:

Björnsson even tweeted a video of him knocking Hall to the mat, along with the caption: "I guess technique DOES matter. Who knew [shrugging emoji]."

Per The Mirror, Björnsson said he feels "amazing" after his victory, adding: "I've been working my a** off for two years. I had such a good team around me who have supported me all the way through.

"On my behalf [the rivalry is over], understandably he seemed angry still, he lost the fight. There are a lot of feelings right now.

"If he wants a rematch I'll take one no problem. I would like to thank Eddie Hall and his team."

Hall would go on to acknowledge the better man on the night, saying: "You know what, I can take things as a man.

"It is what it is, that's boxing. At the end of the day, I've just fought the biggest man on the planet in a boxing match. I'd like to see anyone else get the balls and do that.

"It's been a hell of a journey; I've enjoyed it and hopefully there's a rematch and we can do business again."

The strongman went on to praise his wife for her support and being his "rock".

There you have it. We've had Iron Man vs. Captain America, Batman vs. Superman, and now Björnsson vs. Hall.
