Stephen Spielberg's adopted daughter Mikaela has spoken about her "life-affirming" decision to become an online sex worker.

This comes after the 24-year-old adopted daughter of Steven Spielberg, 73, and his actress wife Kate Capshaw, 66, was briefly jailed in February over a misdemeanor domestic violence against her then-fiancé and pro dart player Chuck Pankow, Page Six reports.

As per the New York Post, the charges were dropped after Mikaela successfully completed court-ordered counseling sessions.

Her arrest came just days after she hit the headlines after it emerged that she had become a solo adult content creator, producing erotica from her home in Nashville, Tennesee.

Opening up about her new career in an interview with the Daily Beast, she said that it has been a "life-affirming" decision.

"I felt like had I not done the work I needed to do on myself, and on my relationships, I would have been dead within the year," she said.

Mikaela said that her famous parents were "intrigued" by her new choice of career and that they hoped that it would help her recover from the drinking problem that she developed after she turned 21.

A problem that got so extreme, she said, that it almost ended her life "a couple of times".

In an interview with the Sun in February, the 24-year-old said: "I actually think that once they see how far I've come from the bottom I was at a year and a half ago, they're going to look at this and go, 'Wow, we actually raised a really self-assured young lady.'"

"My safety has always been a number one priority for them. I'm not doing this out of an urge to hurt anyone or to be spiteful."

Despite the global challenges presented by Covid-19, she told the Daily Beast: "I'm in the middle of a healing journey. About two years ago, I was at my worst."

Mikaela explained that she is now refining her content on the adult entertainment platform ManyVids, which she says is "online and dance-only" and "not full-service," with the New York Post elaborating that OnlyFans reported that it does involve full nudity and the use of sex toys.

"I've learned that I do not enjoy hardcore content personally," she explained. "Whatever you decide to make is your decision, but I enjoy soft content and passion content."
