Taylor Swift has called out Kim Kardashian for her role in the infamous 2016 phone call leak between the singer and Kanye West.

As we all know, the 'Anti Hero' songstress won the award for 'Best Female Video' for her track 'You Belong With Me' during the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.

However, her joyful moment was cut short as during her acceptance speech, the 'DONDA' rapper jumped on stage, took the microphone, and told everybody that "Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time! One of the best videos of all time!" leaving a then-19-year-old Swift stunned.

We thought the feud the over then, however in 2016, West released an album called The Life of Pablo, which featured a song called 'Famous'. In this track, he refers to his altercation with Swift, saying: "For all my Southside n***as that know me best, I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. Why? I made that b**** famous".

At the time, West's ex-wife - who posted footage of the call on social media - made it look like Swift had given him consent to sing about her with vulgar lyrics but the 'Karma' hitmaker refuted this, saying in a social media statement: "Being falsely painted as a liar when I was never given the full story or played any part of the song is a character assassination," per Teen Vogue.

Despite this, the Grammy-winning musician was widely criticized and branded a liar and a "snake", with #TaylorSwiftIsOverParty quickly trending on social media.

However, four years later (2020), a release of the entire phone conversation was leaked online and showed that the original video had been edited down - proving Swift's claims to be true.

But, the SKIMS mogul took to social media at the time to share her belief that Swift was still lying, tweeting in part, "@taylorswift13 has chosen to reignite an old exchange."

"I didn't feel the need to comment a few days ago, and I'm actually really embarrassed and mortified to be doing it right now, but because she continues to speak on it, I feel I'm left without a choice but to respond because she is actually lying," she added.

Seven years later, the 'Cruel Summer' artist is revisiting that traumatic time in her life in an interview with Time Magazine after being crowned their 'Person of the Year' - and she didn't hold back when naming names.

"You have a fully manufactured frame job, in an illegally recorded phone call, which Kim Kardashian edited and then put out to say to everyone that I was a liar," she told the outlet in an interview published December 6. "That took me down psychologically to a place I've never been before."

Swift revealed that she moved to a foreign country after the incident, adding: "I didn't leave a rental house for a year. I was afraid to get on phone calls. I pushed away most people in my life because I didn't trust anyone anymore. I went down really, really hard."

At that time, the 'Love Story' singer felt the scandal to be the end of her music career, sharing: "Make no mistake - my career was taken away from me."

However, the pop superstar didn't allow the controversy to discourage her as she created her most rebellious album yet, Reputation, with the lead single 'Look What You Made Me Do,' featuring several snake references.

And now, she is a billionaire, has been nominated for seven Grammys, embarked on her successful Eras Tour, and released a concert movie that surpassed $100 million in ticket sales globally one week before the film premiered.
